Demand response and dispatchable generation as ancillary services to support the low voltage distribution network operation

The current power systems, namely the low voltage distribution networks, have been suffering considerable changes in recent years. What appeared to be innovation trends nowadays due technological advances and manufacturing cost reduction has become new reality coming Thus, growing trend of generation by renewable sources posed challenges opportunities. Furthermore, wide installation “smart meters” interest placing citizens as core players into future energy markets systems operation improves role system operator. In this way, developing innovative methodologies explore potential mechanisms for providing ancillary services networks becomes great importance, levels. This research paper proposes an methodology enhance demand response participation small consumers dispatchable distributed flexibility mitigate congestion issues networks. A realistic network with 236 buses is used illustrate application proposed model. results demonstrate a profile improvements.
